Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl of just five when she left for Oxfordshire and went to an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. From the age of six Emma decided that she was going to become an actor and for a number of years she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned dance and acting. She had already performed in various Stagecoach as well as school plays when she was ten years old. When 1999 began, casting was announced to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was found by agents through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. After a string of auditions for eight consecutive times, director David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast to play three of the leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The movie broke all records for its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was one of the top 2001 films. Many critics have praised the film and the performances of its three major young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, praised Emma's performance "amazing". Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five more times for the film.
